Valley Bible Is On The Broad Way

Valley Bible Fellowship, located at 2300 E. Brundage Ln., Bakersfield, CA 93307, is on the broad way that leads to destruction. In Matthew 7:13-14 Jesus warned,

Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.

Jesus likewise warned in Luke 13:24,

Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I say to you, will seek to enter and will not be able.

Jesus' warning in both Matthew 7:13-14 and Luke 13:24 (in context) was to the Jews (the people of God). The warning of the wide gate and broad way is in the context of those who are among the "people of God". And so it is today. Among the "people of God" (i.e. "Christians") there is a broad way that most are following. Most "Christians" are on the "broad way" to hell. Valley Bible Fellowship exemplifies that they are on this broad way by their espousal of Promise Keepers.

Promise Keepers teaches the gate is wide and the way is broad with their Promise # 6. "I will reach beyond . . . denominational barriers to demonstrate the power of biblical unity." (The Power of a Promise Kept, p. 2). This promise is actually antithetical to biblical unity. Jack Hayford's statement in Seven Promises of a Promise Keeper on page 19 illustrates this fact. Speaking of "Redeeming Worship" Hayford writes,

"Redeeming worship centers on the Lord's Table. Whether your tradition celebrates it as Communion, Eucharist, the Mass, or the Lord's Supper, we are all called to this centerpiece of Christian worship.

Hayford's statement above gives credence to Catholic worship ("Eucharist, the Mass") and calls it "Christian worship". Catholic worship is false Christian worship and leads to hell. The Christ of Catholicism is a false Christ (i.e. "Transubstantiation" which teaches the wafer of the Mass literally becomes the literal body of "Christ", and Catholics literally worship this wafer). Actually, Catholicism is filled with idolatry (praying to Mary and the saints) and false doctrine (Matthew 23:9; 1 Timothy 4:1f). To embrace Catholics (and therefore Catholicism) as brothers in Christ is to embrace a religion that is demonic and leading millions to eternal torment (Revelation 21:8; 22:15). This is no small matter, and this is not biblical unity. It is promotion of the very issue Jesus warned about - - the broad way (Matthew 7:13-14). Promoting that Catholicism is also a way to heaven is not narrow (Matthew 7:13), but broad!

Promise Keepers masks its evil (as the Pharisees of old, Matthew 23:27-28) by promoting good concepts (e.g. sexual purity, personal integrity, etc.), but it's all worthless if you end up in hell! PK's first promise states, "I will honor Jesus Christ through prayer, worship, and obedience to His Word in the power of the Holy Spirit." (The Power of a Promise Kept, p. 2) PK does not fulfill its very first promise by not loving Jesus Christ, the Truth (John 14:6). Pushing aside and ignoring the serious error of Catholicism is not loving the truth. It is also following the broad way.

Another example of Valley Bible's serious error can be seen in their "Set Free" ministry. In their "Set Free" brochure they write,

The Primary Focus of Set Free is to minister to those who are struggling with some sort of addiction, such as alcohol, prescription drugs, witchcraft, etc.., through a Biblical concept.

The only "Biblical Concept" that ANYONE needs who is "struggling with some sort of addiction, such as alcohol, prescription drugs, witchcraft," or any other sin is JESUS CHRIST! Speaking in the context of the bondage of sin, Jesus said,

Therefore, if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed. (John 8:36)

If a person was truly "free" (i.e. saved) by Christ from their sin of drunkenness, abuse of prescription drugs, or witchcraft, they would have no use or need for a "support group". But, the fact of the matter is, they are not truly set free. Therefore, such a "support group" is needed. Thus, the Savior (Jesus Christ) is seen as not sufficient to save from sin! This follows the psychological approach and is antichrist (2 John 7/Colossians 2:8-10).

Furthermore, in Valley Bible's "Set Free" brochure they write,

The Set Free Group was established to help our pastors minister to a certain segment of our congregation. (bold added)

In other words, there is a "certain segment" of Valley Bible's "congregation" that is "struggling with some sort of addiction, such as alcohol, prescription drugs, witchcraft, etc.". In other words, there are people at Valley Bible Fellowship who are still addicted to "alcohol, prescription drugs, witchcraft, etc."! This is insane! So, what Valley Bible Fellowship is actually admitting to is that they have "Christian" drunks and "Christian" witches in their midst! This is foolishness! This proves these people have NOT been set free (i.e. saved) by Christ (John 8:36). They are still on their way to hell (1 Corinthians 6:9-10; Revelation 21:8/Romans 10:9-10)! And, Valley Bible Fellowship ignores Paul's command to "put away from yourselves the evil person" (1 Corinthians 5:11-13).

Another example of Valley Bible's deceit can be seen in pastor Ron L. Vietti's "'possible prophetic word' from the Lord". On 1-20-99 we visited Valley Bible Fellowship's Wednesday evening service and they had available (for the taking) this "possible prophetic word" from their pastor. Even though Mr. Vietti wrote that this is a "'possible prophetic word' from the Lord" in his introductory letter, the first four words of this "possible prophetic word" claims, "Thus sayeth the Lord:" So, which is it? "Thus sayeth the Lord:"? Or, is it a "possible prophetic word"? We can quite confidently answer that it is neither. The God of truth does not speaks lies (Titus 1:2). This "possible prophetic word" speaks lies.

Mr. Vietti writes on the first page, fifth paragraph (as if God is speaking),

I am in the process of shaking up and weeding out all of those leaders who will not love My people the way I love them. You will begin to witness leaders among you falling by the wayside, as if they were struck down with an epidemic or a disease, but do not despair for them, for they are still Mine and I still love them.

The God of the Bible speaks just the opposite! A spiritual leader who does not care for the sheep ("will not love My people the way I love them") is called a "hireling" (John 10:11-13). Also, such men are NOT God's (as Mr. Vietti stated, "they are still Mine"), but they are the Devil's (2 Peter 2:1f; Jude). Also, when Scripture depicts God "weeding" someone out, it is "the sons of the wicked one" that get weeded out. And, this is not until the end of the age (Matthew 13:36-43).

Furthermore, in this "possible prophetic word" Mr. Vietti writes,

In the future, you will behold a church that will be unified and strongly knit together, despite doctrine or denomination. It can be no other way. (bold added)

This is the antithesis to loving the Truth (i.e. Jesus, John 14:6). Any church that is "unified and strongly knit together, despite doctrine" is a false church. If you understand that Jesus is the Word of God (John 1:1, 14; Hebrews 4:12-13), and the present war (2 Timothy 4:7; Jude 3; 2 Corinthians 10:3-5; Ephesians 6:11-14) is over doctrine (i.e. what the Bible teaches), then you will understand the serious error in the above proclamation. Any church that is unified "despite doctrine", is unified "despite Jesus", because Jesus IS the doctrine (the Truth, John 14:6; the Word of God, Revelation 19:13) that holds any true church together (Ephesians 4:3/John 14:17; 15:26; 16:13; 17:17). To say otherwise is evil, as 2 John 9-11 says.

Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him; for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds. (note also Matthew 4:4)

Mr. Vietti also writes in this "possible prophetic word, ". . . pray and see visions. Be open to spiritual revelation." What he is really exhorting here is, "Be open to spiritual deception." Vietti writes, "Beware of the enemy so you are not ignorant of his schemes." Valley Bible Fellowship is seriously "ignorant of his schemes." (2 Corinthians 11:13-15). Anyone can claim to have a "vision" or "word" from God, or even claim some "miracle", but does the man, movement, or church, line up with the Word of God? You would do well to take heed to the exhortation the Lord gave to the Israelites in Deuteronomy 13:1-3.

If there arises among you a prophet or a dreamer of dreams, and he gives you a sign or wonder, and the sign or the wonder comes to pass, of which he spoke to you, saying, 'Let us go after other gods' - which you have not known - 'and let us serve them,' you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams, for the Lord your God is testing you to know whether you love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

False prophets may perform miracles. Jesus' words illustrate this further.

For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. (Matthew 24:24)

If there is falsehood in their message, we can know for certain that they are false (particularly if they do not consent to "wholesome words", 1 Timothy 6:3). The problem is, Satan's schemes are more deceptive than what is found in Deuteronomy 13. Speaking about the days in which we live, Peter described Satan's deceit with these words.

But there were false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, . . . (2 Peter 2:1)

We have pointed out just a few of Valley Bible's secret "destructive heresies". Be warned! Paul wrote,

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, . . . (2 Timothy 4:3)

These words are being fulfilled in our days! Has anyone ever warned you of the "heap"?

Valley Bible has a flyer entitled, "14 THINGS TO DO IF YOU HAVE MISSED THE RAPTURE". They warn, "Beware of any big church movement after the rapture." Why wait until "after the rapture"? You should beware of such now! For Satan IS walking "about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour." (1 Peter 5:8); and he IS deceiving the whole world (Revelation 12:9); and this INCLUDES the "Christian" community (2 Timothy 3:1-5; 4:3; 2 Peter 2:2).

May God have mercy on your soul and open your eyes. Psalm 118:22-24 still stands true today. For more information on the "heap", or what we believe, write or call and we will send it free of charge.
